Camp outside, on the ground or on makeshift chairs during your lunch break. With the ministerial circular that establishes the obligation to have a Green pass in canteens, those who do not have a vaccination passport cannot consume food inside the Ikea warehouses in Le Mose in Piacenza. And so, as reported by the Piacenza newspaper Libert and as shown in the published photo, employees organize themselves as best they can, eating a sandwich outside on the floor.

The restrictive interpretation
In the warehouse, the newspaper reports, there is a ban on parking and consuming food in company spaces – including break areas – for those who do not have a Green pass. You can have coffee but not stop, not even for example to eat snacks. The ministry imposes the Green pass in places where there is administration, and the company has extended the interpretation in a restrictive manner, then reduced the time of entry to the canteen, before three hours, from 11 to 14, one hour, from 12 to 13, explains Salvatore Buono who follows the logistics sector for the CISL which states that for now, the policy of the worker at the center of everything, as an added value, loses some sense. The cause of the reduction in hours, as explained by an internal circulation, is the decrease in users given the obligation of the Green pass.

The unvaccinated
The problem is that only less than half of the employees vaccinated and not because they are all convinced no vax. Many employees are of foreign origin and may be poorly informed or willing to book. This is how the union was mobilized and asked to bring a vaccine camper out of the facility which was used as a warehouse and collection point. In addition, with the Ikea canteen serving 120 meals a day every day, adds Buono, for those who do not have the Green pass we ask for a tensile structure to make people eat in a more dignified way, especially if it is very hot or in case of rain.
