IKEA adds air purifier to Home Smart series – Image and sound – News

I have a HAP-16200E from Honeywell in the bedroom that should be good for 20m²
On the highest setting, it makes a noise of 53 dB. The lowest setting is still good for 45 dB.
I call that a terring noise. My computer is quieter than that. The thing is off when I go to sleep.

The effect on health is not yet sufficiently proven except for people with Asthma / Allergies. It also saves quite a bit of particulate matter whether you live in the middle of the city center or in a small village in Friesland. Also throw away your gas stove because they produce quite a bit of particulate matter. Or if that is not possible, at least set your extraction system to max and open a window (or the ventilation grilles if they are present) see the research by TNO (2)

The HEPA (high-efficiency particulate absorbing) filters can stop the virus particles. of SARS‑CoV‑2. A particle is 0.06-0.14 m in size. a HEPA filter must stop 99.97% of the particles between 0.15 to 0.2 μm. The efficiency is even greater for larger and smaller particles. for explanation see (1)

for best results, you should run the device 24 hours a day and replace the HEPA filter on time. Also make sure there is sufficient air-flow (ventilation). The thing also has an ionizer but they produce ozone which is toxic. The limit is 0.10 ppm. ARB-certified devices are allowed to emit 0.05 PPM ozone. But a large study concluded that even a dose of 10 PPB (parts per billion) already has a measurable harmful effect on health. So I wouldn’t use that feature.

It is also better not to eat strawberries from the supermarket (3)

“I always heard ‘whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ growing up. How so very foolish. In fact, what doesn’t kill you is only delaying the inevitable” Jeremy Caldwell

Life is deadly.
