The issue of possible deprivation of membership of the Russian Hockey Federation (RHF) in the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) will depend on the Russian side fulfilling the conditions in the case of CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov, said IIHF President Luc Tardif.

In August, the IIHF refused to register a contract with Fedotov because of the existing agreement with the NHL club Philadelphia Flyers. The Russian goalkeeper was suspended for four months from September 1, and CSKA was banned from international transfers for a year. The IIHF Disciplinary Council upheld the sanctions. Fedotov continues to take to the ice with CSKA in matches of the Fonbet KHL Championship, despite the ban from the IIHF.

Later on Saturday, a Match TV source suggested that in case of further non-compliance with the prohibitions, the FHR could be expelled from the membership of the international federation.

— Does FHR want to be a member of the IIHF? Now everything depends on how the FHR reacts to the decision of the disciplinary committee. If the FHR wants to remain in the international family, it must force CSKA and Fedotov to comply with the decision of the IIHF,” the Match TV website quotes Tardif as saying.

This season, 27-year-old Fedotov played 23 matches for CSKA and won 12 victories with a reliability coefficient of 2.11 and 91.7% of reflected shots.
