The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is promoting South-South cooperation through its upcoming Interregional Ministerial Roundtable discussion on Digitalization and Investment for the Transformation of Food Systems. Ministers from around the world will convene in Hanoi, Vietnam on April 25 to share national and regional experiences in designing and implementing digital solutions, promoting collective action, and fostering investments to transform food systems. The forum will also explore best practices and models of South-South cooperation in the Americas, Asia, and Africa with the aim of facilitating opportunities for reciprocal collaboration that will drive accelerated action. The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, as well as Grow Asia and Food Action Alliance, two multisectoral platforms of the World Economic Forum, are collaborating with IICA to strengthen food security. IICA’s Director General, Manuel Otero, and Special Advisor to the Director General, Jorge Werthein, will be delivering messages at the forum. IICA has been advocating for greater South-South cooperation and promoting closer engagement between the Americas, Africa, and Asia. In 2022, IICA organized the first Africa-Americas Ministerial Summit on Agrifood Systems, in collaboration with the African Union Development Agency and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa.
