“INSPIRED BY ARTISTIC NATURE”
This year, on July 1-2, Šventoji will immerse itself in the world of culture, theater and nature. in 2022 After gaining great interest and appreciation, the Street Theater Festival organized by the Palanga Culture and Youth Center (PKJC) returns with new ideas, challenges, wishes and goals.
The Sventoji resort is rapidly changing and modernizing, there is a need for new art forms and events. At the 2nd Street Theater Festival, visitors will be able to get to know the unique places of Šventoji resort. “The motto of this festival is ‘to inspire artistic nature’, together with professional dancers and actors, they will take you around the historically important objects of Šventoji. Each participant will be able to discover this slogan individually: “come and be inspired by artistic nature”, or “create inspired by artistic nature”, – shares PKJC manager Ernesta Žaromskytė.
Each performance of this festival in different places of the city will give unique experiences. The community and the guests of the resort will not only watch the performances, but will also be included in the artistic composition – together with the actors and dancers, they will explore relevant life issues and artistically travel through the unexpected spaces of the city.
Self-love or just a surreal dream?
July 1 (Saturday) at 6:00 p.m. Dance theater JUDESIO ERDVĖ will appear in Šventojis pedestrian square (Topolių g. 4) with the performance “DÉBUT”. It examines a woman’s relationship with herself and the surrounding environment. In the play, the woman meets not only herself, but also another person. Questions are raised about what love for self and love for another is. About listening to yourself. About feelings that change us and our lives. An attention-grabbing performance where contemporary dancers fuse with live cello and accordion music.
22:30 In the pedestrian square of Šventoji (Topolių st. 4), the BURNING GIRAFFE theater will present the dance performance “ANTHROPOMORPHIC CABINET” based on the paintings of Salvador Dali. In the performance, a person is looked at through the anthropomorphic meaning of drawers. It is about how we reclaim ourselves, how after opening all the closed drawers we achieve balance of mind and soul, how we stop sorting our inner world and finally achieve harmony.
Will involve families
July 2 (Sunday) at 6:00 p.m. Priaplakos st. 18 (by the seaside pine forest) theater troupe TEATRONAS will tell about the trip “80 WORLDS IN ONE DAY”. The show is intended for the whole family. The performance is based on three sources of inspiration: J. Verne’s book “Around the World in 80 Days”, A. Chamiss’s philosophical novel “PeterSchleimihl”, which is mentioned as an allegorical short story about a man without a nationality, and the modern desire to use the cosmos and its bodies for our benefit. Theater and circus dramaturgy are combined by the most talented representatives of these fields – Kristina Marija Kulinič and Džiugas Kunsmanas. By combining these performing arts, the play will talk about topics that are extremely relevant for the young audience: respect for others, travel, the planet, and the ability not to forget or appropriate what does not belong to you.
Historical tour-dance performance
SHEIKO dance theater will make you feel the fragility of sand and dunes. Historical excursion – the dance performance “UŽPUSTYTI” tells about the changing nature of the unique Pomeranian region and the fates of its inhabitants and guests. The dance performance-excursion, which takes place in the midst of enchanting nature and entices the audience armed with headphones for new experiences, where you can hear and experience stories about the events of the past. The historical tour will start from the “Fisherman’s Daughter” sculpture and continue to the Saint’s old southern pier.
