Spartak Myjava despite the procedure from III. League West will not compete in the national competition next season. The club did not apply for II. league. He reported on Thursday night. The place of kickers will offer a choice of Slovan Bratislava up to 21 years.

Explanation of the president of the club Pavel Halabrín

We thought about it a lot, we discussed it for a long time. Among ourselves, with the people around football, with the sponsors … In the end, our decision takes into account the time we are currently living. That we are not sure how it will go next. They scare us with the third wave, we have to take into account some restrictions, we don’t know if people will be able to go to matches.

Finally, we said that we will not sign up for the second league now and we will stay in the third. We prefer that we continue to build our team, incorporate seven of our puppies into it.

It is not easy to reject the possibilities that are offered, and we as athletes always take it that we want to win, be the first, play better competitions, compete with better teams. So from this point of view, we were tempted to go to the second league.

But we also had to take into account such facts as that there are several teams from eastern Slovakia, which means several two-day trips, several of our players work two shifts and we would have to return to such greater professionalism, we would certainly have to add the team with three more – four players …

And to do all this when we are not sure whether the season will end, whether the fans will be able to come, because if not, then it all loses its meaning, it is not entirely possible. It would take another 80 to 100 000 euros, so there are many things we have considered.

Finally, we decided that it was much more important for the team to stay together, to have their quality, so that we didn’t have to send the guys who worked away and replace them with others. In addition, as I mentioned, we are interested in incorporating our puppies, who mostly sat on a bench or played elsewhere than in Myjava, into the team.

I am convinced that the quality of the team will eventually be such that we will win the third league again. And when that happens and everything is fine in this state, then there will be nothing to decide on and we will go to play a higher competition. “

Myjava won the promotion in Saturday’s last 15th round of the shortened season. Beluš’s hesitation helped her. The team includes well-known names from the Fortuna League, Tomáš Kóňa, Štefan Pekár and coach Ladislav Hudec.

The place of Myjava will most likely belong to the young Slovan Bratislava, who last year took the penultimate 14th place in the II. league before Poprad and behind Bardejov.
