IHS Towers takes over the Skysites division with 1000 locations in Brazil

IHS Holding Limited (“IHS Towers”), one of the world’s largest independent owners, operators and developers of shared telecommunications infrastructure by number of radio masts, announces the completion of the acquisition of Skysites Holdings SA (“Skysites”), the specialist provider of Small Cells and telecommunications infrastructure in urban areas in Brazil.

Skysites ‘operations, which include around 1,000 locations, as well as exclusive access to tens of thousands of premium properties in urban areas, will be fully integrated into IHS Towers’ Brazilian operations in the coming months.

This acquisition is IHS Towers’ second transaction in Brazil in twelve months. With it, the company is deepening its core competencies and know-how. The innovative urban solutions from Skysites with small cell and radio mast solutions as well as the extensive experience of Skysites in the construction of mobile radio systems in urban areas complement the in-depth operational knowledge and technical innovation of IHS Towers. With the takeover, IHS Towers is continuing its growth strategy and will continue to consolidate IHS Towers’ 20-year track record in emerging markets in the future. This acquisition enables IHS Towers to expand its offerings for its customers and ensure that the company is well positioned for the upcoming 5G rollout in Brazil.

Sam Darwish, Chairman und Group Chief Executive Officer von IHS Towers, commented on this as follows:

“I am very pleased to announce the acquisition of Skysites in Brazil. This takeover is a further component of our strategic growth strategy in emerging countries in various regions of the world. Brazil, with its extraordinary growth potential, is a key market for us. With this transaction, we are significantly increasing our presence in the market after we entered the region for the first time last year with the takeover of Cell Site Solutions. ”

Roberto Nishikawa, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Skysites, commented:

We are proud to have built our extensive, unique portfolio of tens of thousands of premium real estate locations in very densely populated urban areas in preparation for the upcoming 5G rollout. I would like to thank our employees and our shareholders for their support in all that we have achieved. “
