The IHK Südlicher Oberrhein in Freiburg was probably the victim of a cyber attack. Almost the entire software has been offline for two days.
Not only the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Südlicher Oberrhein in Freiburg (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) is affected: All 79 Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Germany are currently only accessible to a very limited extent. The reason for this is probably a hacker attack on the IT center of the chambers in Dortmund. They are working feverishly to get the problem under control.
No knowledge of hackers – Kripo Dortmund determined
According to a spokeswoman for the IHK Freiburg on Friday, the systems are gradually starting up again. A lot is done via Microsoft teams or video chats, also from the home office. The attack on the IT center of the IHKs in Dortmund took place on Wednesday. It is currently hoped that everything will be back to normal by the beginning of next week. Nothing is known about the possible attackers or a ransom demand. The Kripo Dortmund is working on the case.
