Krefeld / Viersen district / Mönchengladbach / Neuss Rhine district. Everyone has one before the decimal point and are therefore the best of their year! Of the 4,700 trainees who graduated this year from the Mittlerer Niederrhein Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), 261 of 189 training companies received awards for passing the exams with “very good”. They took the stage with equally beaming faces and let themselves be celebrated with a great support program. The IHK had invited to the artwork in Mönchengladbach to honor not only super trainees but also top training companies, vocational institutes and advanced training graduates. The focus of the event, however, was on young people.
Just like Sophia Schönberger from Viersen. The 22-year-old completed her training as a product designer at AUNDE Achter & Ebels GmbH in Mönchengladbach with flying colors. “I am a very ambitious person and I always try to improve my skills. What helped me was my interest in training and supporting everyone involved, “says Sophia Schönberger of her” secret recipe “for her good performance. She would like to thank her family and friends in particular but also his teachers and training company Meanwhile, the Viersen native decided to study product and object design at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.
Paul Sandvoß, 24, completed his training as an aircraft mechanic, specializing in maintenance, with flying colors at Rheinland Air Service in Mönchengladbach. “I’ve always been interested in airplanes. Along with my ambition to get a good degree, this has helped me a lot, “says the Willicher native. He is grateful for the great support of his girlfriend and family, but also of the vocational school and its training company, which they welcomed him.
“Passion and motivation are the key to success – we can see that from the many successful people tonight,” IHK President Elmar te Neues said when honoring successful graduates. “Companies have recognized that there is only one solution to the shortage of skilled workers: training! They have to bring the pupils into the company at an early stage and present themselves as an attractive employer ”. It is important to exploit the full potential of young people and not only pay attention to school grades.
Tim Fairhurst, 30, completed his training at Game Stop Deutschland GmbH in Krefeld as a retail clerk with flying colors. The driving force of the Krefeld: “It makes no sense for me to choose a task in life and then not face it with full energy and vigor.” For Tim Fairhurst this is the second training: the first was to become an actor. Now he looks forward to his work and new challenges.
Just like Mavi Schüller from Meerbusch. The 23-year-old has completed her training as an event manager at Wellfairs GmbH in Meerbusch with flying colors. “With the help of the training company, my colleagues and the vocational school, I was very well prepared, so the exam was easy.” Mavi Schüller is now studying the international leisure science course at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.
In the joint ceremony, the IHK didn’t just reward the best trainees. In addition, four excellent training companies received a special award. The best three of the 361 graduates of the higher education exams were also awarded. “Anyone who wants to advance professionally should continue learning after training, as these 361 graduates did,” says Jürgen Steinmetz, IHK’s general manager. “With our celebration, we pay tribute to these dedicated people and show: Performance pays off.” The dual system of vocational training and higher education would make a significant contribution to the success of the regional economy. The three best graduates of the higher education exams are: Nalan Demiröz-Wenschuch (certified business economist), Claudia Frese (certified specialist for the organization of offices and projects) and Andrea Bruch (certified industrial foreman specialized in paper processing and of plastic).
The President of IHK also found words of praise for the best training companies. “Your commitment is paying off. The look at the many successful faces tonight speaks volumes ”. The special award in the field of technical and commercial training goes to Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH with its apprentice Niklas Groth, electronic technician for devices and systems. In the area of commercial training, Kliniken Maria Hilf GmbH has the most successful trainee in Helen Ingmanns, employed for the management of the office. Also a special award – this time in the field of commercial training in the retail trade – went to the local welfare association Neuss eV with trainee Marcel Brand, salesman. The special award for the best initial training company went to Simon Möller, the main representative of Allianz-Beratungs- und Vertriebs AG, with their trainee Dirk Wellemsen, an insurance and financial employee.
In addition, the four best vocational schools were again awarded a special prize: the Rheydt-Mülfort Vocational School of Technology, the Volksgarten Vocational School of Business and Administration and the Grevenbroich Vocational School took the podium.
