IHG to Open Second Kimpton Hotel in New York City This Fall

IHG Hotels & Resorts will open the second Kimpton Hotel in New York City this fall, with 15 stories and 364 rooms, including five suites, a 1,100-square-foot penthouse

This Kimpton Hotel Theta will offer the Midtown West neighborhood a fresh and unexpected Midtown experience. A hotel will serve as an oasis for guests who want to work, rest and play, said Mike DeFrino, general manager of Americas luxury and lifestyle at IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Located one block from Times Square with easy access to the city’s transportation hubs. Guests will be close to Broadway and MoMA.

Inspired by the Theta brain waves that are most present in situations of self-reflection, meditation and internal focus, the name Theta also comes from the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet, the perfect link to the hotel’s location on 8th Avenue.

Kimpton Hotel Theta joins Kimpton Hotel Eventi as the brand’s second hotel in New York City.

as reported REPORTUR.us, in February IHG Hotels & Resorts will have new properties under development with its voco brand in the United States, which will be located in Destin, Florida; Sarasota, Florida; Laguna Hills, Calif.; College Station, Texas; and Flushing, New York, and in Mexico, in Querétaro and Saltillo. (IHG will add new hotels in the USA and Mexico with its voco brand).

The director of development for the Americas of IHG Hotels & Resorts, Julienne Smith, pointed out at the time that the voco brand is part of the hotel’s premium portfolio and has expanded rapidly, since it also offers the conversion model.
