MAURITANIA- In the final of the UFOA Zone A, Nouakchott 2024 school tournament, the young Guineans lost on penalties (6-7) against Senegal, after a score (1-1) in regulation time.
Despite the defeat in the final, this team is already qualified for the second edition of the African school championship, due to its status as African champion obtained during the first edition which was played in 2023 in South Africa. The continental school championship will be played in Morocco from April 5 to 10.
The young Guinean ladies were beaten in the final and missed the objective of qualifying for the next school CAN. Regarding rewards, young Guinean boys pocket 75 thousand US dollars compared to 50 thousand for girls. The young Amara Keita finished with the title of top scorer of this tournament in Mauritania with 18 goals scored in 5 matches.
