Igor Tudor admit stress when working together Andrea Pirlo of Juventus. Here’s the story.
Pirlo has just been sacked from the Juventus coach chair. He has now been replaced by Massimiliano Allegri, who will be in his second spell in charge of the Bianconeri.
Previously, Pirlo was appointed by Juventus at the start of the season. He replaced Maurizio Sarri, who was sacked by management.
Andrea Pirlo, who previously coached the Juventus U-23 team, immediately agreed to take up the challenge of coaching the first team. He took his chosen ones with him.
Among them Igor Tudor, who became his main assistant coach, then Roberto Baronino, the technical coach, and Claudio Filippi.
The result, Juventus could only win the Coppa Italia, but failed in the Serie A and Champions League stages. It was considered Tudor quite disappointing.
“It was a difficult season, but we qualified for the Champions League and we won the Coppa Italia,” said Tudor, who previously coached Hadjuk Split in Croatia.
“Even so, [Juventus] keep pushing us away. I don’t believe it was a fair decision. Also, I decided that I would never work as an assistant for anyone again,” he said.
Tudor explained that the experience of working with Pirlo was quite stressful. Because, he felt that he was not given a more prominent role.
“[Andrea] Pirlo was the one who called me to Juve. There is a list with five names compiled Juventus, and [Fabio] Paratici left the decision to Pirlo. “
“He picked and called me, with [Pavel] Nedved too, for offering me the role of assistant. I accepted it, because it was Juve. But because he was so close to [Roberto] Baronio, he brought it too. And another one, an analyst, and he puts us all on the same level,” Tudor said.
Tudor admitted that he wanted to move up to become the next coach. Specifically, he admitted that he wanted to coach Sassuolo and Verona.
“I hope the opportunity comes. Sassuolo is a good place, but it’s a closed club. I want Verona, an organized club, and Ivan Juric to do a good job.” Igor Tudor, who also defended Juventus in 1998-2007.
