The bereaved families of the 29.10 disaster have repeatedly asked the government for a list of bereaved families to set up a council.
However, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min said that there is no list itself, but by examining the official document obtained by MBC, it was found that the Ministry of Public Administration and Security not only protected the list, but has also received interpretation authority that could be disclosed.

Public Administration and Security Minister Lee Sang-min insisted that he did not have a list of bereaved families after the disaster.

He even chided the members of the National Assembly for not believing him.

However, it was revealed that the Ministry of Public Administration and Security had already obtained a list of the victims and bereaved families, as well as an authoritative interpretation that could be given.
Official letter sent by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security to the Personal Data Protection Committee on 2 December.
We have released the names of the victims and asked that the list of bereaved families be revised to be given to other bereaved families.
A week later came the response from the Commission for the protection of personal information.
“It may be disclosed with the consent of the bereaved family,” he said.
However, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security did not provide the names of the bereaved families until the end.
Bereaved families were required to make inquiries directly and set up a family bereaved council.

“I went around like crazy trying to get the contact information of the same victim’s family members. Please give me the contact number. Even now, they don’t give me the contact number.”
Minister Lee Sang-min’s explanation that there was no list was later revealed to be a lie.
It has been confirmed that the Seoul Metropolitan Government has already provided the ministry of public administration and security with lists of victims and bereaved families and contact information three times within a week of the disaster.
Minister Lee Sang-min has found an excuse to be a secretary.

“It has been revealed that the government intentionally avoided or obstructed meetings with the families of the victims of the Itaewon disaster.”
The Ministry of Public Administration and Security explained that it had “consulted with Minbyun about sharing the list of bereaved families”, but Minbyun refuted, saying: “I haven’t heard a response until now”.
