Mexico City. The coordinator of the Morena bench in San Lázaro, Ignacio Mier, announced the conclusion of the debate forums where the constitutional reforms proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador were analyzed, and highlighted that they incorporated aspects that needed to be modified in these proposals.
The legislator highlighted that the exercise organized by the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Chamber of Deputies, which began in February, was “dialectical, democratic, diverse and inclusive,” and recalled that the aforementioned initiatives were grouped into four thematic axes: freedom, democracy, justice and well-being.
Likewise, he recalled that the forums were held in 25 states of the country, 4 national in the Chamber of Deputies and 5 more at the regional level, where different opinions related to the reform initiatives sent by the Executive were heard.
“This is how we finally arrive, with a clear conscience, at the Political Coordination Board, that we listen to Mexican men and women and that we convert the exercise of open parliament, not into liquid modernity, which limits and prevents human beings, -from collectively – question your reality to transform it,” he concluded.
Mier, who highlighted that the conversations sought to “question reality in order to transform it,” participated in the last of the forums, held in Puebla, the entity where he is from.
