IGAC presents results of the Multipurpose Cadastre to Communal Communities

The Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC) presented the progress of the Multipurpose Cadastre operation in San José del Guaviare, which covers both the urban area and the townships of Charras Boquerón and El Capricho. The presentation, led by engineer Shirley Socha Mendivelso, coordinator of the cadastral operation, was addressed to the presidents of the Community Action Boards (JAC) of the urban area, who received detailed information about the importance and benefits of this initiative for the community. local.

During the meeting, Socha responded to several concerns raised by the community representatives, especially about the territorial position of sectors such as Arazá and Providencia. The engineer explained that the IGAC takes as a reference the Basic Territorial Planning Plan (PBOT) of the municipality, which acts as a guide to define property limits and other essential information from the cadastre. This contributes to clarity and precision in territorial delimitation.

Likewise, Socha took the opportunity to clarify that the IGAC is not responsible for determining the amounts of property taxes, a function that falls exclusively to the municipal administration. This point was of great interest, since it helped clear up doubts about the scope and function of each entity in relation to the cadastre and taxes.

Jairo Alonso Coy, president of Asojuntas de San José; Mayerli Rivera, president of the Prados neighborhood of San Sebastián; and Olga Lucía Ordúz, president of Providencia, described the work of the IGAC as positive and took the opportunity to invite the community to actively participate in future information sessions. Engineer Socha announced that in the coming days this report will be replicated before the mayor’s office and will be extended to the community, reinforcing the IGAC’s commitment to transparency and accessible information for all inhabitants.
