Aryna Sabalenka (2nd in the world ranking) is the new queen of New York! The Belarusian defeated in the final of the US Open 2024 to Jessica Pegula (6th) by 7-5 and 7-5 and claimed her third Grand Slam title and first in the United States, thereby closing the gap on Iga Swiatek (1st) at the top of women’s tennis.
