In the third game, Swiatek lost 1:4 with two breaks, but managed to make an incredible comeback and close out the American.
This was the 6th meeting of the girls, in particular the second on the courts of Melbourne. In 2022, Collins beat Iga in the semi-finals of the Australian Major. This is Danielle’s only victory in head-to-head matches with Swiatek.

In the 1st round of the JSC, the Polish woman beat Sofia Kenin (USA, WTA 41) in two sets.
Note that Collins is also entered in the doubles major, where she will compete together with Ukrainian Nadezhda Kichenok.
