The beginning of the match was marked by many unforced errors on both sides, as if the players were still getting used to the court and special balls. Unfortunately, Iga made more mistakes. In the third game, she scored two double service errors in a row, then she hit the net again and hooked it twice. Ultimately, it cost me a pass.
By the result 3: 2 Iga seemed to have a better rhythm. She could win a longer rally and put more resistance, and had two balls to break. Unfortunately, her rival kept her cool and defended herself. What’s worse, the improvement in Iga’s game was only temporary. The Polish woman lost the game again at her service and in the next game, Sakkari finished her work and probably won 6: 2.
Iga Świątek played better in the second set, but made too many mistakes
The beginning of the second set heralded a slightly higher level of the performance. We watched more exchanges, the third game of the second set lasted about 10 minutes. Sakkari scared the Polish woman with the service all the time. After another Greek game, Świątek was terribly irritated, shouting something towards the coach, hitting her thigh and cursing under her breath. The fact was, however, that the Polish girl improved her game a bit, but everything was difficult for her. Sakkari was bolder, more determined in her game, and the Polish woman made simple mistakes from time to time, and they largely determined the result of the seventh game, in which the Polish woman was broken.

Taking into account the form of Sakkari at the service, Iga’s chances of winning the entire match at that moment became illusory. Iga won the next game to zero, but it was only a postponement of the sentence that was passed in the next game. Sakkari made no mistake and made Iga Świątek cry. The Polish woman turned her back to the rival for a moment, lightly hit the wall twice with the racket, ignoring the referee’s warning, and when she turned back and returned to the last action of the match, it was clear that she just cried out.
