Why organize a collection like the one on Thursday evening, at Ifs ?
These collections organized in the municipalities allow us to come into contact with the population and be as close as possible to donors, in order to facilitate this essential gesture of blood donation.
What about the needs now?
The reserves are fragile, although the situation is not particularly alarming. But it is important to remember that we need a regular mobilization of donors because the needs are on average 500 bags per day, in Normandy. Recipients can’t wait: blood donation is all year round!
What is the practical organization of this collection?
Donors must make an appointment on the internet, knowing that there are about twenty slots out of the 64 planned. This system allows us to organize a secure collection with a very strict sanitary protocol: respect of distances, hand washing, delivery of a surgical mask at the entrance. Note also that the location is changing, the Jérôme-Obric gymnasium replacing the François-Mitterrand room, currently requisitioned for vaccines.
