IFK Norrköping midfielder Maic Sema, 34, spoke earlier this week, for NTthat he wants to stay in Beijing, but that won’t happen.
Norrköping announces on Sunday that Sema will leave after the season.
– I want to thank all the supporters who supported me and gave me love, on and off the field, and thanks to all the teammates I had during my time, says Sema on the club’s website.
Norrköping’s sporting director Tony Martinsson:
– Maic has made a big impression as a person and he has been an extremely positive and valued teammate. Although the playing time has been less in recent years, he will be remembered as a technical player around whom a lot happens. We wish Maic the best of luck in the future and thank him for his years at IFK Norrköping.
Beijing further announces that Sema and Ari Skulason, who will end their playing careers after the season, will be recognized in connection with Monday’s last home game against Varbergs Bois. IFK Norrköping is in ninth place in the Allsvenskan.
Sema, who has a background as a youth player in Beijing, returned to the club in 2019, and has since made 85 appearances for the club, including 15 Allsvenskan appearances this season.
