GOTHENBURG. New year, new squad building, but the same dilemma for IFK Gothenburg.
Three players that you want to sell do not participate fully in training. But the trio gets to go to the foreign camp in a couple of weeks.

IFK Göteborg, who trained for the first time in front of more than a thousand spectators in -13 degrees during Saturday, lists 27 players in the A team squad.
It is at least four too many according to technical director Ola Larsson, who also wants to bring in a few more new acquisitions.
Three players Blåvitt clearly wants to find new clubs for: Eman Markovic, 24, Suleiman Abdullahi, 27, and Anders Trondsen, 28.
The first two have contracts until the end of December 2025, Trondsen until June 2026.

One in the two-goal game
Abdullahi was not present during training.
– He is at home in Nigeria rehabilitating his knee, which is not good, says Ola Larsson.
Trondsen participated in all drills and played left back in what looked like a second team during the two-goal game.
Markovic? He had to drive on the side again.
– If we have a number for the two-goal game, Eman is not included. Then there will be too many. It’s not a good situation. We need to find a solution around that, says IFK Gothenburg’s technical director.
IFK Gothenburg has received offers for both Markovic and Trondsen. Blåvitt agreed with Norwegian Fredrikstad on the terms of a move for Trondsen recently. Something that Expressen reported on.
– We have had requests. But it has not been our fault that nothing has happened, says Larsson.
The players have refused?
– Yes.
If the three have not changed clubs before you go to camp in the Algarve (January 31), will they go with you then?
– The starting point is that they follow along. They are still part of the squad.

“Labor law rules”
Is it because of rules that you can’t let players under contract stay at home?
– I think we should be as polite as possible when it comes to all the labor law stuff that we need to deal with. I will not violate anything like that, says Larsson.
How important is it that you find a solution for the three players before bringing in new players?
– There is, of course, an economic issue involved. But I don’t think that question is decisive for whether we can bring more players here or not, says Larsson and praises Trondsen:
– My problem is that he has an injury history. But he is always positive and professional when he comes here. It’s a good player as well.
IFK Göteborg can reduce the squad by simply loaning players to the new partner club Västra Frölunda, but this only applies to Swedish players who are under the age of 23.
How many players do you want in the squad?
– In general, I would say 20 outfield players and three goalkeepers.

The players in question
There has been speculation about Blåvit interest in players such as Amadeus Sörgaard, BP, Peter Christensen, Sönderjyske, Paulos Abraham, Groningen, and Kazper Karlsson, Halmstad.
Ola Larsson does not want to comment on names or positions you want to strengthen.
– We have a group that we are talking to, but none of them are really close yet, says Ola Larsson.
– I have never worked as hard as I did in December. I’ve decided that we’re going to turn this shit around. There must be order and order here so that we can make this club perform over time. It will require hard and tough decisions.
