IFK Gothenburg recruits in the crisis. During Friday, it was announced that it had completed a loan for Astrit Selmani that extends to the end of the season, with a purchase option.
Selmani joins from Israeli Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
– I know what it takes to perform in a big club like IFK Gothenburg and I know that it is in a challenging situation that I come to the club. But it is a challenge I am extremely motivated to face, he says to the club’s website.
IFK Gothenburg announces that he will do his first training session with the team on Saturday.
Ola Larsson, technical director, talks about the new acquisition:
– Astrit is a hard-pressing forward and an experienced goalscorer. He has a confidence and a personality that brings him to both the audience and the players, and he is an example in the way he approaches both training and matches. There is a clear hunger in Astrit and he is very motivated to come here. In addition, he has a national team place in Kosovo that he wants to win back, he says.
The striker’s season with Danish side Midtjylland, where he was on loan, ended in June and he has not played a game for a while. Blåvitt announces that he will not be ready for 90 at first.
– Since Astrit has not played a match for a while, it is important to match him in in a smart way with more and more match minutes in the near future, says Ola Larsson.
Selmani has previously represented Varberg and Hammarby in the Allsvenskan and is noted for 63 matches and 26 goals and 13 assists.
