It is not for nothing that the summer transfer window is usually called the silly season. It is the time of year that most players change clubs and every summer usually offers several surprises.
This year, such a surprise could have happened in the Allsvenskan. Maybe even on a par with when Marek Hamsik signed for IFK Gothenburg in 2021. And like then, it was IFK Gothenburg that this time too was offered a world star.
According to what Fotbollskanalen has learned, Blåvitt was offered the Belgian star Radja Nainggolan during the summer window. The 35-year-old is currently without a club after leaving Serie B club Spal when his contract expired at the end of last season and is now looking for a new club.
In the end, there was no deal for Blåvitt. They evaluated the offer but decided not to take it up. The Swedish transfer window closed yesterday and the last signing IFK Göteborg made was to pick up Atalanta talent David Pérez on loan.
The signings Blåvitt made this summer can thus be summed up to Thomas Santos, Arbnor Mucolli, Astrit Selmani, Kolbeinn Thórdarsson and David Pérez.
The football channel has sought IFK Gothenburg’s technical director Ola Larsson for comment without success.
