If you think you can buy a 1,400cc car, don’t subscribe to the Pertalite shopping list!

Jakarta

So far the government has not decided when and how to limit the purchase of subsidized fuel. However, those who can afford and own a 1400cc car should not have to register in order to purchase Pertalite.

Pertalite and subsidized diesel users were asked to register their vehicles by Pertamina. Even those who are not registered, the number plates of vehicles using Pertalite and subsidized diesel are registered by the officials of the petrol stations.

Registration is intended to make the two types of fuel that receive subsidies more targeted. As is known, users of Pertalite are said to be limited to certain concepts according to the revised presidential regulation number 191 of 2014 relating to the price of supply, distribution and retail sale of fuel oil (BBM).

No requirements have been set so far. Lately, only cars with a maximum displacement of 1,400cc and motorcycles under 250cc can still refuel Pertalite.

However, Saleh Abdurrahman, a member of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), recalled that even though his car is included in Pertalite’s usage criteria but is classified as capable, it should no longer consciously use subsidized fuel.

“Those who feel they don’t have the right or don’t need it, don’t register, say the vehicle is 1,400cc, if they feel they can afford it, they don’t need to register,” Saleh was quoted as saying. CNBC Indonesia.

Earlier, PT Pertamina company secretary Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting, said cars under 1,500cc dominated registration to buy Pertalite.

So far, Pertamina Patra’s VP Sales Support Niaga Zibali Hisbul Still, said the registration for Pertalite has reached 2.8 million vehicles. The details are 2,031,197 who signed up to buy Pertalite and 841,724 for subsidized diesel.

Although not yet in effect, Pertamina has begun testing restrictions on purchasing Pertalite. For private cars, it is currently limited to a maximum of 120 liters per day. The number of restrictions is uncertain, because it will follow the rules set out later. As for private diesel cars, the consumption limit is 60 liters per day.
