(ETX Daily Up) – There are places where it’s good to live when you really love music. Nashville, Tennessee, for example. If the American city is nicknamed “Music City”, a new study claims that it is not the one where music lovers will be able to enjoy the fourth art the most.
The Momox site has established a list of the most “music-friendly” cities by analyzing and comparing the musical influence and the musical support infrastructures of thirty cities. He relied on indicators such as the percentage of people working in the arts or the number of times the city has recently been among the main dates of a world tour.
London is at the top of the ranking. The English capital stands out if we look at the number of record companies it hosts or the quality of the musical education provided there. Great names in music like David Bowie, Adele and Amy Winehouse were also born here.
London is closely followed by New York. The Big Apple is doing well thanks to the online popularity of the many songs recorded there. Paris is in third position in the ranking. An honorable score that the French capital owes, in part, to its very high concentration of record stores per inhabitant. Only Nashville is ahead of it on this criterion.
Not surprisingly, Los Angeles and Berlin are also in the top 5 of the ranking of the most influential world cities from a musical point of view. It should be noted that the German capital has the highest percentage of jobs in the artistic sector, ahead of Stockholm and Paris.
The United States is the most represented country in the list thanks to cities like Chicago (#7), Atlanta (#8) and San Francisco (#9). Nothing surprising, if we rely on a previous statistical study carried out by Momox. It certified that the North American country was most influential in the music industryahead of the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
