Samsung’s camera assistant was already available before, but the truth is that hardly anyone had been able to try it, because Samsung has exclusively reserved it for its latest flagship, the Galaxy S22, starting with users in South Korea.
Samsung is working to make the Camera Assistant app available for more devices, according to a post by a moderator on the company’s community forum for South Korea. The brand will try to make Camera Assistant available for as many devices as possible and it will also publish an announcement about the expansion program soon.
Camera Assistant coming to other Samsung smartphones
Launched in October this year, Camera Assistant is a module for the company’s Good Lock app. It lets you customize the behavior or settings of the camera on a deeper level than you can with the stock camera app. In other words, it gives you finer control over camera settings than the stock camera app, with some settings even making a comeback after disappearing from Samsung smartphones in recent years.
Shortly after, the range was opened so that all owners of any Galaxy S22, S22+ or S22 Ultra model could enjoy it by downloading it from Galaxy Apps in any country in the world, although until now we have not heard of its arrival on more Galaxy smartphone, something that has just changed.
As SamMobile told us, more Samsung devices, and not just high-end ones, will finally have access to Camera Assistant.
This was confirmed by Samsung itself on the forums of its community of members in South Korea, answering the question of a user who asked, like many others before him, that Camera Assistant was available for all Samsung Galaxy Android mobile devices.
Camera Assistant a more advanced photo application
Note that even if you search for this app, you won’t find it as such, as it is in fact available as a “Good Lock” module that allows you to customize the camera’s behavior and settings, going far beyond the standard camera app included in One UI .
Unsurprisingly, control improvements give you the ability to disable auto HDR mode and image smoothing when shooting portraits, features that are now included by default since One UI 4.1, as well as enabling auto lens adjustment while shooting. zoom and many other functions.
Last month, the company updated Camera Assistant with the ability for the app icon to match the color of the phone’s background, enabled by Camera Assistant’s dynamic icon feature. Samsung also recently released the updated Expert RAW app, which allows users to capture bright photos of stars, constellations, and dark skies.
We will also find in Camera Assistant some useful functions that had disappeared with the relief of options in the latest versions of One UI, and that many users still found useful for their way of taking pictures with their mobile phone.
Obviously, what we don’t know is which devices will be equipped with Camera Assistant in the coming weeks, but it is clear that Samsung is working to make it available on more smartphones soon… Good news!
