“If you don’t get the vaccine, don’t use the bus”… Controversy over promoting French legislation

––
There are reports that the French government is pushing ahead with measures to make public transportation unavailable if the vaccine is not given.

On the 22nd local time, the AFP news agency reported that the cabinet had agreed to support the content at a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Jean Castex.

According to the draft legislation, proof of getting vaccinated may be required to use public transport or to perform certain activities.

You may also need to provide proof that you have received preventive measures.

If you don’t get the vaccine, you can limit your activities.

Opposition politicians protested that it was “health dictatorship.”

National Federation (RN) President Marine Le Pen criticized the bill as “basically totalitarian.”

“The bill is not intended to mandate vaccination, but if you do not follow it, it will prevent you from living in society.”

Republican Vice President Guillaume Peltier said, “It is unimaginable to have all the power to halt our freedom.”

Senator Natalette Goulett, a centrist, accused it of being “an attack on public freedom.”

Public Sector Minister Amelie de Montchalin explained, “It’s not being pushed to create extraordinary power.”

“The bill will go through a debate,” he explained.

Meanwhile, according to a poll, 5 out of 10 French citizens said they were not willing to get the vaccine.

This is the highest percentage among the European Union.

To date, more than 2.45 million people have been infected with Corona 19 in France and 61,000 have died.
