We want to encourage you to give the elbow curls, or just push-ups. An exercise that we can comfortably perform at home and that is perfect for training the upper body, that is, the chest, shoulders and arms.

While we do this exercise we will also be strengthening the core area, it also requires a full body effort to do them correctly.

An exercise that does so much for your muscles should not be left out of your workouts. Maybe sometimes it costs us take the step, but we predict that the satisfaction will be even greater when you do them perfectly.

To perform them you must turn upside down, leaning on the palms of the hands and the balls of the feet. The hands should be under the shoulders, slightly wider than the width of the shoulders, and with the fingers facing forward.

We keep the body hard, with the active core, and the we raise while stretching our arms. Once you fully stretch them, you will have to return to the starting position, flexing your arms again. Now it only remains to repeat.

Keep your hips in line with your shoulders, don’t move your elbows too far apart and remember that your hands should be under your shoulders, not in front.

First steps

If this is your first time doing push-ups, it may not be easy for you. For start in a more gradual way there are some variations of this exercise that may be helpful to you. For example, you can do them resting on the knees rather than on the balls of your feet.

Without forgetting that you can also start with incline push-ups. That is, instead of doing them with your hands on the ground, you can lean on a table and gradually decrease the incline, changing the support surface.

Work at each height until you can easily do three sets of 10 reps. Once you feel comfortable, do not hesitate to include them in your routine, surely you will soon notice the improvements.
