At the age of 50, vaccines are still essential for health, such as in childhood and other stages of life. At this point, you need to check if you have the necessary doses and if you are using reinforcements.
In connection 50Concha León Portilla spoke with doctor and infectologist Gloria Huerta, who guided us on what the vaccination schedule should be like at the beginning of the fifth decade of our lives.
Vaccines at 50: essential for being healthy
One of the key vaccines today is the one that protects us from covid-19a disease that affects more men of this age group, so having three doses will encourage your health to stay at one hundred.
Another condition you should protect yourself from is shingles.a reactivation of the chickenpox virus in the body.
“Getting vaccinated against Herpes zoster we currently know reduces the chance of an acute myocardial infarction or a cerebrovascular accident and that’s nothing else because of the way this vaccine strengthens the immune system,” explained Dr. Gloria Huerta.
Likewise, the infectologist recommends immunization with the BCG vaccine against tuberculosisin addition to MMR against measles, mumps and rubella.
“After age 50 there are some metabolic or hormonal alterations that we may be more likely to depress, thyroid, estrogen, everything that happens to us (…) These vaccines are preventative.”
