A full-scale accident between a lorry and a car with the presence of injuries, one of which had a red code, the outbreak of a fire and the simultaneous blocking of motorway traffic.
This is the content of the exercise which took place late yesterday evening, Friday 15 November, on the A15 Parma – La Spezia motorway inside the Puntamonte tunnel, towards Parma, one of the four tunnels longer than 500 meters present along the route and falling within the TEN network (trans-European road network).
The general objective of the exercise, organized and coordinated by SALT, concessionaire of the A15 Parma – La Spezia in close collaboration with the local authorities in charge, was to verify the correct application of the Joint Emergency Plan for tunnels approved by the Prefectures of Massa Carrara and Parma, as well as the effectiveness of the communication systems and procedures between the Operations Centers involved and the timeliness of the emergency, rescue and assistance service.
The exercise saw the involvement of the Traffic Police Subsection of Pontremoli (Massa Carrara), the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Massa Carrara, the healthcare personnel of the 118 Territorial Emergency of Massa Carrara and Lunigiana of the USL Tuscany North West Company, and also saw the participation of the Italian Red Cross – Massa Carrara Committee and the Green Cross Public Assistance of the Municipality of Zeri (Massa Carrara). The exercise will then be subject to evaluation and comparison with the coordination and supervision of the Prefecture of Massa Carrara responsible for the territory.
