Marcelo Flores has already set his ‘condition’ to definitively choose the Mexican National Team over its counterpart from Canada: to play the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
This was announced by the young Arsenal prospect in an interview with TUDN, in which he also spoke about the love he has for soccer and revealed the reasons why he played for Mexico.

“Canada could also offer it to me (being in the senior team), but if Mexico calls me to the World Cup, I think so, that’s where I want to be,” revealed the player, who is living his second call with the Tricolor first team .
“(His parents) They gave me that love since I was a kid and I think that what made me play for Mexico is them, because it is a dream and a pride to play for them and represent them.”
Technical director Gerardo Martino called Flores for tomorrow’s game against Guatemala in the United States. Previously, he took part in the friendly match against Chile.
However, in lower categories, Flores, 18, is a regular member of the Mexican National Team.

It is with the Tri Sub-20 that Flores has been most active and one of the important tournaments that is coming up for said representative is the Concacaf Pre-World Cup, to be played in June, which will give the pass to the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia.
Likewise, Marcelo could see activity in the senior team in the duels of the League of Nations against Suriname and Jamaica, as well as the friendly games that El Tri will have against Ecuador and Uruguay.
Finally, when asked where he sees himself in the summer, Flores replied: “wherever they need me, I will be there to represent Mexico”, although the possibility of playing for Canada is still open.
