President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that he was unaware that the FIFA press the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) so that there is a reduction of taxes with a view to the organization of the Soccer World Cup 2026, which the country will host with the United States and Canada.
He recalled that in his government no more tax forgiveness to the companies. “If there is something in writing, we analyze it and we give an answer, but I was not aware of that ”.
In its Press conference, the head of the Executive recalled that tax contributions are those that allow having a Budget, which is money for the development and welfare of the people.
“There are no longer tax exemptions or reductions, everything that is fiscal policy has changed, without modifying laws, it is avoiding tax evasion, however, if there is something in writing, we analyze it and give an answer,” he insisted.
THE UNIVERSAL has documented that Fifa uses the sanctions for the homophobic cry “ehh puuu” to pressure the FMF to intercede with the government of President López Obrador and – at least – get him a reduction in terms of the payment of taxes by the organization of the World.
