A rugby match focused mainly on teams made up of women will be held today in Azul, in order to give notoriety to the practice in the region. However, in this type of competition, bad weather can affect the development of the test, so the athletes must be attentive to the weather conditions since there are chances of rain during this day.
If there is no suspension due to bad weather, the activity will take place at the Azul Rugby Club facilities, starting at 12, and will include the participation of Las Panteras de Trenque Lauquen, las Indias de Bolívar, a team from América and Estudiantes Santa Rosa, in addition to the local, called “Las Borrajas”.
Likewise, the format to be disputed will be the sevens, as well as highlighting that this event will take place within the framework of the second day of the women’s rugby tournament of the Western Buenos Aires Rugby Union (UROBA).
Finally, the community is invited to attend Azul Rugby to share the day and encourage the local team. Parking is free and free. In addition, there will be a canteen service.

With regard to the Azul Rugby Club women’s team, it was born a few years ago, at first purely for recreational purposes, although it later mutated to adapt to competition.
In this way, the team and the club continued to grow and, with a lot of effort, were able to officially compete in the contest organized by UROBA. Thus, with a history of sacrifice and working together, the members of the team seek to convey the same thing on the field, encouraging the participation of women in a sport that in the past was seen as exclusively for men.
In this way, in this city, the entity “Borraja” offers a space so that adolescents and adults can enjoy this discipline that has camaraderie and fraternity as fundamental values to develop this collective sport.
Training sessions take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 1:30 p.m., on the club’s field located on Avenida Urioste, between Malvinas and Constitución. These teams met on March 27 of this year and the meeting was held in Trenque Lauquen, where the host team was the winner of the first date. On that day, Azul Rugby defeated Estudiantes 52-5, then fell to Las Panteras 33-7 and defeated América 50-0.
