Iwan Bule’s request to resign from PSSI president reached the ears of Shin Tae Yong. The South Korean coach also made a startling statement that he would step down as coach of the Indonesian national team if Iriawan stepped down as PSSI president.
“Someone who truly loves Indonesian football with sincerity and provides full support from behind so that football can develop is the general president of PSSI,” Shin Tae Yong said in an Instagram post.
“In my opinion, if the general president of PSSI is to be responsible for everything that has happened and resign, then I must resign,” added Shin Tae Yong.
Shin Tae Yong reasoned that as a team he felt responsible for the cooperation established with PSSI.
“Because I think if there are mistakes on the part of colleagues working together as a team, then I also have the same mistakes,” said Shin Tae Yong.
In the eyes of the 52-year-old, the Indonesian national team’s success so far cannot be separated from Mochamad Iriawan’s role as PSSI president.
“We are 1 team.
