If the Honda PCX 160 engine is hollow, can you claim a warranty? Here’s AHM’s Response

Otomotifnet.com – All New Honda PCX 160 turns out to have a weakness that is enough to make the owners anxious, the engine or rather the crankcase is prone to perforation.

This is analyzed because the PCX 160 adopts the engine hanger or engine mounting model above.

The effect is that the area under the engine has absolutely no barrier from impact, unlike the PCX 150 which has an engine hanger at the bottom.

The second factor, the PCX 160 uses a 13-inch ring rear rim size, so the ground clearance is only 135 mm, 2 mm lower than the PCX 150 which is 137 mm.

It looks like a slight difference, but because there is no barrier like the first factor, it is certainly more fatal.

“And coupled with a long travel shock. It’s complete,” added Sena Ponda from the Synergy-HSR workshop who is also the owner of PCX 160 from Depok, West Java.

The PCX 160 rear shock absorber is indeed longer than the PCX 150, so it’s 95mm from 85mm.

Of course when it gets a load, the PCX 160 engine can swing lower and get hit easily.

How did PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) respond to this case?

And can the warranty claim for the perforated crankcase damage due to impact?
