If Spurs are a great team, VAR will definitely validate Kane’s goal

London

Manager Tottenham Hotspur Antonio Conte still upset by the VAR’s decision to cancel the goal Harry Kane. It’s a different story if the Lilywhites are a great team.

Tottenham are still stuck in the Champions League round of 16 after a 1-1 draw against Sporting CP on Matchday 5 in Group D, Thursday (27/10/2022) WIB early in the morning.

Tottenham actually had time to take the lead at the end of the match when Kane found the net for Sporting after Emerson Royal’s pass.

Referee Danny Makiele then received a call from the VAR room to review the goal, as there was a potential offside in the process.

After a lengthy review, Makiele finally nullified the goal as Kane was caught offside, before Emerson’s header hit him.

This decision then hit Conte and he was expelled by Makiele. That frustration was carried over to the press conference room after the game.

Conte then attacked the referee again, arguing that Makiele would not have dared to cancel the goal if Tottenham had been Europe’s greatest team.

“Imagine if this decision took place in a match involving big teams. I wonder if VAR dares to make such a decision. Again, an unfair decision like this. Because the ball was in front of Kane’s body,” he said. Antonio Conte as mentioned Football Italy.

“Sorry, but I’m very disappointed because sometimes you can accept the decision, sometimes not because I don’t like this type of situation. I don’t see many positive things”, continued Conte.
