It was in the village hall that the Bresse sang blood donor association, around its president Joël Vivant, organized, with the French Blood Establishment (EFS), its last collection for 2024. 31 donors including 5 new ones came to make their contribution. It was also an opportunity to meet Laurence Fouilloux, one of the volunteers.
Among the association’s volunteers, Laurence Fouilloux, who has lived in Saillenard for two years. She comes from the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence where she worked as a nurse, a demanding profession which led her towards reflexology. “Having free time and connections to health – I did numerous blood transfusions as a nurse – I got involved in the association. »
“It allowed me to integrate into the community”
She adds: “It allowed me to integrate into the community. It was a petanque player friend who encouraged me to come by telling me about the need for volunteers like in many associations. » Laurence Fouilloux donated blood but no longer does so due to a medical contraindication. “It’s very important to donate blood. This helps save lives. » Having been to the emergency room, she saw it. “Many transfusions have saved lives. » She therefore insists: “We must raise public awareness, blood donation: gift of life. »
