Prime Minister Gergely Gulyás criticised the European Court of Justice’s decision in June, which fined Hungary 200 million euros for violating the Union’s asylum rules, during the government meeting on Thursday, recalled the Washington Post .

If the EU wants to force Hungary to accept migrants at any cost, their country will give all migrants a free pass to Brussels. Right-wing Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had previously promised that Hungary would not change its migration and asylum policy, regardless of the decisions of the European Court of Justice.
According to the newspaper, the Hungarian government’s threat to transport the migrants to Brussels is reminiscent of similar actions by Republican governors in the United States, who since 2022 have been transporting undocumented immigrants by bus or plane to Democratic strongholds such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, in protest against federal asylum procedures.
