If children’s wards of hospitals ever get very busy during a major outbreak of a disease, the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) can help them to transfer patients to other hospitals. This should distribute the crowds better and prevent care from coming to a standstill.

The LCPS was set up almost two years ago, in the first wave of the corona crisis, to help transfer hospitalized corona patients to other regions.
For example, the children’s wards can get very busy due to the RS virus. If the time comes and parents approve, the LCPS will arrange the entire move from departure to arrival.
The LCPS works together with the Dutch Association for Pediatrics. Its chairman, Károly Illy, said in a statement on Friday: “This is very good news for sick children and their parents. Knowing that you will receive the care you need, even when it is busy in the hospital, is very reassuring. “
