Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko made a firm statement on Tuesday (21/12/2021).
“If, for example, attack weapons appear on the territory of NATO countries that can reach our command centers within minutes, then we will be forced to create a balanced situation for our partners,” he said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, reported by Sputnik.

According to him, the time for soft talk in dialogue with NATO has passed, but Moscow’s proposal on guarantees is not an ultimatum.

“I don’t take it as an ultimatum at all. Our proposal is perfectly understandable. The time for softness and confidence in words has passed. The situation is so serious that it demands such steps, when basic conversation is needed,” he said.

“Moscow is taking a tough stance on its security proposals,” Grushko said, commenting on the possibility of ignoring one of the demands outlined.
