If Morena continues in the government “nearshoring will go away”: Gálvez

Acapulco, Gro. When attending the Banking Convention, the presidential candidate of the Fuerza y Corazón por México (PAN, PRI and PRD) coalition, Xóchitl Gálvez, warned the members of the Association of Banks of Mexico that if they continue “six more years of Morena and he is leaving us nearshoringbye bye nearshoring”. In addition, he argued that the Welfare pension reform being discussed in Congress seeks for the government to keep resources from individuals. “I have the impression that what they are doing is like a trap… right now it is those 70 years old and older, in a while it will be everyone,” he said when calling to “defend” the Afores.

Gálvez inaugurated this Friday the “catwalk” of presidential candidates who will attend the banking sector this day. The Hidalgo native spoke out for giving guarantees for this sector in search of banking the economy, while at the same time launching constant criticism of the federal government and comparisons with Morena’s presidential candidate and her allies, Claudia Sheinbaum.

From the beginning of his message, Gálvez maintained that six years ago, when he ran as a candidate, Andrés Manuel López Obrador “threatened” that if he did not win the election the tiger would be released, but “he released the pack of death and fear,” he asserted.

After proposing a government that is a source of certainty, he offered to respect international treaties, laws and institutions, as well as an independent Judiciary and an autonomous Supreme Court of Justice.

“For this reason, I reject and condemn the vulgar siege of the president and his candidate against the Court and against the Judiciary,” said the opposition standard-bearer, to which the attendees responded with loud applause, but without harangues or cheers. “Sheinbaum and Morena are capable of devastating a constitutional power in order to protect their accomplice Arturo Zaldívar,” the candidate immediately added.

Meanwhile, regarding public finances, he insisted that Pemex has requested millions of pesos without giving results, so it should change the business model.

While regarding the relocation of foreign companies that have arrived in the country, he pointed out “This is the most favorable international scenario in recent decades, (but), I tell you clearly, so that there is no doubt: six more years of Morena and We’re into nearshoring, bye bye nearshoring… Wake up, let’s not let go of the best opportunity we have had in a generation to boost our economy. “We have to shake off the fear and dare to achieve it because the world is not going to wait for us.”

Moments later, he called on the bankers to “reflect” on what, he said, is at stake in the elections, and affirmed that the election will decide the kind of country we will be for the next 30 years.

And considering that the government does not see private initiative and banking as an ally, he indicated: “Six years ago they told them that they would not cancel the Texcoco airport and many believed it. Today they tell you that they are not going to touch the pension system but look at what is happening with the Afores.”

“It is not my intention to keep you awake, but I invite you to imagine what it would be like to defend the savings of the Afores system with a Judicial Power with a judicial power subject to the will of the Executive. How are we going to protect property rights if we lose the ability of a court to suspend an abusive law. If judges and ministers are elected by popular vote, to whom do they believe they will respond when issuing a sentence,” he added.

When asked by the moderator, he responded that to address the issue of pensions, “the first thing I would do is not steal Mexicans’ money. That money has a name and surname; Maybe he’s in the United States working, that’s why his account is inactive, maybe he doesn’t know he has that money, maybe he’s still quoting hours because he feels productive… I have the impression that what they’re doing is like a trap. I hope Mexicans wake up and realize that right now they are those 70 years old and over, in a while we will be all of them. So let’s defend the Afores, let’s defend the pensions because it is private money, it is not government money. “They’ve finished all the boxes and now they’re going for ours.”

Also, he insisted that “he would not be thinking about tax reform,” but rather about growing the economy. Furthermore, he explained that in states like Guerrero “there are no conditions to vote in peace,” since candidates have been murdered. “This government has colluded with organized crime, I say it clearly,” said the opposition presidential candidate.
