If Living in the Same Era, Tyson Fury Is Judged Able to Defeat Lennox Lewis Page all

KOMPAS.com – Leading boxer promoter, Frank Warren, believes that Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight of the current generation.

I was so sure, Frank Warren assessed that Tyson Fury would be able to defeat Lennox Lewis if both lived in the same era.

If the benchmarks are the championship belt, Fury is clearly still losing class to Lewis.

Currently, Fury only has a WBC championship belt, while Lewis in his active period is able to collect all the heavyweight championship titles, aka holding undisputed champion status.

Even so, Warren continued to believe, Fury could overcome Lewis if the two British figures met in the boxing ring.

“Lennox Lewis is at his best, while Fury is playing like Wilder. If, I have to bet, I will support Fury,” Warren told the Daily Mail, reported by BolaSport.com from BoxingScene.com.

“Wladimir Klitschko is the best in his generation, but look at what he (Fury) did to Klitschko,” Warren said.

“He also defeated Deontay Wilder, the owner of the hardest blow in the last 30 years. Not only beat, but also taught, stopped, and conquered it on every front.”

“Tyson in any generation is a great fighter, put him there with big names, he is with them,” Warren said.

As a boxer, Tyson Fury’s career path is quite winding.

After defeating Wladimir Klitschko and winning four championship belts at once namely IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO, Fury went through a dark period.

He was depressed and had a dependency on drugs and alcoholic drinks.

This makes Fury unable to fight boxing.

As a result, one by one his champion was removed and he was forced to pursue his fist career from zero again.

Fury finally returned to the peak of his career after winning a boxing battle against WBC champion from the United States (US), Deontay Wilder, in February 2020.

Now, the 31-year-old boxer is preparing to face Wilder again in the trilogy duel.

If Fury again conquers Wilder, then the way to meet IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO champions, Anthony Joshua, will be more open.

At present, the two British boxers have agreed to hold a unification duel twice next year.

But, of course, the battle could only occur if both of them still held their respective championship belts.

Responding to the megaduel plan, Frank Warren as the promoter of Tyson Fury is optimistic that his client can beat Anthony Joshua.

“Fury is better on every front. He has a better chin than Joshua, he is a more successful boxer, I think his jab is better, he has the same punch strength, as you saw against Wilder,” Warren said.

“I’m not saying Joshua doesn’t have a chance, but I think Tyson beat him on all fronts,” he added. (Muhamad Husein)
