If India qualifies for the final of the Test Championship, the Asia Cup will have to be postponed

Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsaan Mani has said that the upcoming Asia Cup will have to be postponed if India qualifies for the World Test final.

The final of the World Test Championship will be held at Lord’s from June 18 to 22. The Asia Cup was scheduled for June.

The Asia Cup was scheduled for last year. Following Kovid, the tournament was postponed to 2021. Ehsaan Mani, however, said that the Asia Cup does not look set to happen again this year as the World Test Championship final is scheduled for June.

The PCB chairman said India would consider postponing the Asia Cup to 2023 if it qualifies for the final of the Test Championship.

New Zealand had already reached the final. The fourth Test of the India-England series must be completed before India or Australia can reach the final.

India can reach the final if they draw the fourth and final Test against England. But Australia will play in the final to beat England in the fourth Test. England’s chances of reaching the final ended with a loss to India in the third Test.
