The chain of ice cream parlors Jet Lac Hachshara Mehamdrin is expanding, adding a branch in Jerusalem as well. The new branch opened on Jaffa Street, in front of the entrance to Mahane Yehuda market. This will be the 12th branch of the chain.
The chain was established in Ashkelon in 2005 by morgue and Ido Knafi. Over time, the couple developed the concept into a chain for “depraved desserts”, with fresh Italian ice cream in fancy kosher of Beit Yosef. Jet Lac is a strictly kosher chain, Halab Israel.
Moorg Knafi, the owner, says: “All our products, including those imported from Italy, are of a high Italian standard, kosher in Beit Yosef. Through our strictness, we help our customers eat the tastiest, most kosher. Even customers who are not observant or kosher enjoy our products, and this was actually the ambition: that the whole world would enjoy eating with us. I wanted to make my product accessible to the entire community,”
Jet Lac branches: Hadera, Petah Tikva, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Nativot, Ofakim, Rishon Lezion, Beer Sheva, Sderot, Eilat and Jerusalem.
The Ashkelon morgue adds that she has the feeling that the ultra-Orthodox community is excluded from quality products “Certainly in the dessert area. Why can’t they enjoy premium products with a fun atmosphere? All communities deserve to enjoy the same level of experience, without discrimination.”
“In the transition to fancy kosher, we discovered that if you make an effort, you can get the raw materials with high kosher.
