Gordon Gekko is the symbol of the greedy Wall Street trader. The fictional character from the movie Wall Street by Oliver Stone has become immortal with the saying ‘greed is good’. He symbolizes an unscrupulous capitalism that, through aggressive takeovers, rips companies apart with only one goal: to make themselves richer. The character Gekko is partly inspired by the now 86-year-old Carl Icahn, who is pretty much the inventor of that takeover strategy.
