“Taking the show “Deconstruction” off the air is an absurd decision – we stated it yesterday with the position of BSP spokesperson Atanas Merdzhanov.” This was written on Facebook by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov. In his position, it is emphasized that this act is unfounded, it does not rest either on the law or on the freedom of speech, proclaimed and protected by the Constitution.
“I may have been criticized on Deconstruction… and on many other shows. But this is about something else, much bigger,” Mikov wrote on Facebook.
“Today, citizens protested in defense of the right to speak freely. Do we still have the right to think, to speak without censorship, to criticize without fear? If someone restricts it – at least say on what grounds, according to what rules! Or are there no rights or rules in Bulgaria anymore?” asked the chairman of the BSP via the social network.
According to him, these are all questions that the left will put before the CEM. “And we await an answer! Because if it turns out that “Deconstruction” has been taken down simply so that it is not on the air, the call for self-forgetful chief regulators and directors to go is the most valid thing in the case, and we will support it! The faster, the better”, says Mikhail Mikov on Facebook.

Taking the “Deconstruction” program off the air is an absurd decision – we stated it yesterday with the position of BSP spokesperson Atanas Merdzhanov. Today we understand that it is also unfounded, it rests neither on the law nor on the freedom of speech, proclaimed and protected by the Constitution.
According to the Law on Radio and Television, such a sanction is imposed only for non-observance of the regulator’s order. And which order did the presenter Peter Volgin not follow? And more – who is the official who found the violation? Has the BNR been sanctioned because of this broadcast so far?
Has anyone found any basis in law at all to justify this showdown? And speaking of brawling – can you remember another show being taken off the air like this? Because non-compliance with the law is only one side of the issue!
