If BPJS Health is in arrears, can you still take care of your SIM and STNK?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The government urges people who are still in arrears for the National Health Insurance (JKN) BPJS Kesehatan to pay off immediately. If not, then they cannot take care of public service documents.

Because, currently JKN BPJS Health is a mandatory requirement to take care of public services such as making SIM, STNK, buying and selling land to going on a pilgrimage. This is stated in Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2022.

Special Staff to the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Teuku Taufiqulhadi said the polemic related to this rule that occurred in the community was not about managing or registering as JKN participants. However, participants who still have not paid their dues are afraid that they will not be able to perform public services.

“In my opinion, some people are worried that it’s not a problem to take care of the BPJS, but maybe some are in arrears,” he said in the FMB webinar, quoted on Sunday (27/2/2022).

Therefore, he asked the public to be able to pay off the dues that had been paid so far. Because, it’s for your own good to be able to use JKN BPJS Health services.

“And I said that if you are in arrears, being a citizen is not good. Because as a citizen there are rights and obligations. So if you want to claim your rights from the state, you must fulfill your obligations,” he explained.

In the future, all people who take care of the land sale and purchase certificate will still be served even though they have not been registered as JKN participants. However, when processing the documents, they will be given an advice to register as a participant.

If not, then the documents that are taken care of cannot be retrieved even though they are finished. So, in this case, the document for the sale and purchase of land will still be served, but at the time of collection it must include proof of JKN BPJS Health membership.

“So I think there is a grace period that allows it to be taken care of. So in my opinion there is no problem at all. There is a grace period given to take care of those who have not yet registered for BPJS Health membership,” he concluded.
