Brian Brobbey has indicated to the club management of Ajax that it is not unwilling to face a ‘return’ to Ajax after this season. That tells Ajaxwatcher Mike Verweij of De Telegraaf in the podcast Kick-off of the morning newspaper.
Brobbey decided to sign a contract with Leipzig earlier this season, but after he had signed, coach Julian Nagelsmann announced that he would leave for Bayern Munich after this season. After that news the rumors started that Ajax is thinking about bringing Brobbey back to Amsterdam.
“I think it’s actually quite logical”, Verweij starts in the podcast of The Telegraph. “Especially when you know that Brobbey has indicated to Overmars that he would rather not go to Leipzig. You can say that it is ridiculous to pay money for a player who has been trained himself, but Ajax does not get anything for it now.”
Verweij thinks that Ajax can still earn a nice amount from the striker in the future. “If you buy it back for seven million – it is said – and you can sell it for a De Ligt or De Jong price, then you have made a very good buy”, he concludes.
