Waiting for Christmas, Ieva Akuratere offers listeners excerpts from the “Winter Garden” program, created in collaboration with guitarist and composer Aivaras Hermani. The concert will feature songs created in collaboration between the two artists, as well as traditional Christmas songs performed by musicians.
Already this week, on December 3, the concert of Ieva Akuratere and Aivars Hermani will be held in Ungurmuiz, and on December 4 – in the Tukuma House of Culture. The two musicians’ program will then be seen and heard on December 17 at the Ramata Parish Folk House, December 20 at the Allaži Folk House, December 26 at the Ropaži Evangelical Lutheran Church and December 27 at the Tērvete Culture House.
Cooperation of well-known musicians in Latvia started more than 30 years ago.
They discovered their creative harmony and unified musical sense while working on the song cycle “Silence Between Us” (1990) with poetry by Igo, followed by the cycle “Flying with the City” (1997) inspired by poems by poet Linard Towne , while for the lyrics of the solo album “Wishing” the author is mainly Ieva Akuratere herself. The concert program “Ziemas dārzs” will also contain songs with lyrics by Ieva Akurateres, and there is also a song of the same name in this program. “He who himself experienced the possibility of a miracle believes in my miracle. For others we can show the way. When you find your secret, it turns out that we are all united by this existence of happiness, only each of us loves it in slightly different way. It’s good to love how I feel, not how I’m taught! It’s good to look for! For the Christmas spirit rings in the secret conservatory, which we invite you to hear and see through the stream of musical sounds,” he says Ieva.
