The Difficult Doctors’ Practice Forum (FDSP) accused the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) of making it difficult for doctors to practice permits from abroad. This was stated in a meeting between FDSP and Commission IX of the DPR RI on Monday (20/6/2022).
Responding to the issue, Deputy General Chairperson of PB IDI, Slamet Budiarto, denied that his organization made it difficult for practice permits. He emphasized that the government has the authority to issue practice permits.
Slamet said for a doctor’s license from abroad, the authority fell on the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI).
“It is not IDI that regulates the adaptation of foreign doctors. But the government, namely the Minister of Education and Culture and KKI,” said Dr detik.comMonday (20/6/2020).
“IDI’s job is to help the government so that doctors who practice meet the knowledge, skills, and attitudes so that people can be protected. All the rules that make it are the government,” he continued.
IDI’s accusations which are said to complicate practice permits and the like are called Slamet unfounded.
